I Need to Break my 100 Eventually
Artist's Process and Reflection
Louise Culbertson used a Nikon D300 to create this portrait of money in a series of four images. The model in each photograph is Mira Wilsey. Camp Bosworth created the wooden stack of money that was used as a prop in these photographs. The photo titled “I Need to Break My 100 Eventually” is intentionally out of focus to underscore the blurred and messy relationship between money and poverty that Louise Culbertson sees in United States society today.
